Turning vision into reality

The Formation of HWRC

In February 2009, a visionary idea took root in the mind of Bennichan, igniting the creation of the “Handicapped Welfare Rehabilitation & Charitable Trust” (HWRC). This idea was born out of a deep-seated desire to make a meaningful impact on the lives of physically disabled individuals, a mission close to Bennichan’s heart. With determination and passion, Bennichan took the necessary steps to bring this vision to life, culminating in the official registration of HWRC at the Sub-Registrar’s Office in Changanacherry.

This moment marked the realization of a long-cherished dream for Bennichan – a dream of establishing a foundation that would offer hope, support, and empowerment to those in need. But the journey didn’t stop at just forming the trust. Understanding the importance of building credibility and ensuring sustained support for the cause, Bennichan worked tirelessly to secure the necessary certifications from the Government of India. Through these efforts, HWRC obtained the prestigious Income Tax 12A and 80G certificates.

These certifications are vital, establishing HWRC as a recognized charitable organization with tax exemptions and offering a 50% tax benefit to donors. For Bennichan, founding HWRC and securing these certifications fulfilled a personal dream of creating a compassionate legacy. The 2009 inception of HWRC marked the beginning of a movement dedicated to transforming lives and fostering inclusivity.
